Corbets Capital

Verbal and Visual Brand Identity

Challenge

Develop a complete brand identity for a new equity division of an established firm that was specifically designed to attract experienced top-level portfolio managers.

Verbal & Visual Identity   ―

Verbal Identity Approach

Through surveys and meetings with the leadership team, we identified various themes that resonated with their vision for this new division. The most salient theme involved the team’s mutual fondness for the Jackson Hole ski area in Wyoming and its surrounding terrain. Our research and strong rapport with the client paid off when, in the first round, we pitched the winning name Corbets Capital, referencing Jackson Hole’s legendary Corbets Couloir ski run.

Visual Identity Approach

For the logo, we focused in on  the aspirational mountain-centric concept. After several iterations, our designers delivered an exceptional marque that referenced the iconic jagged Teton range and the Corbet’s Couloir run. The final image is of three mountain peaks, creating a series of upward-pointing arrows that give a sense of navigation and positive growth. The image references the strength, courage, and skill it takes to reach great heights.

This was a successful quick-turn project thanks to excellent client communication. We helped Corbet’s team define a straightforward story and were able to quickly translate that into an evocative new brand identity that was authentic to them while expressing the elite, high-performance message they were seeking. Finally, we adapted the new brand identity across all applicable corporate identity assets, including business cards, letterhead, and presentation decks.
